Anthropologie has become a household word… but we still look to them for trend setting fashion and furnishing priced for the masses. At least the design-conscious masses… with a few extra bucks in their pockets! Or stylish wallets! They set the trends. They make us drool. We want it and we want it now. I fortunately cannot purchase everything I see and love. Like these hand made cups… just out of my price range, but I might just sign up for a clay class and make my own…

The line between art, craft and design gets thinner and thinner. Hopefully one day there will be no division. We’ll all be referred to as image makers or reflectors of life on earth. Some creative types have already reached that place. Is it art, craft, or design or all three — or better yet, something more beautiful and profound, which has yet to be named. This would describe Eva Wylie who’s work looks more like a labor of love and an expression of the beauty she recognizes when viewing the world. Her work takes my breath away. Thanks you for sharing your vision with us.

We are sad to end this little dreamy VayCay! What we found in Paris was oh so chic! A a stunning addition to any outfit… these lovely little felt flowers. And thanks to etsy you don’t have to fly to France to get them.

Not that we didn’t have a million other reasons to go to New York. If you are going to be in New York before April 4th… check out the Museum of Arts and Design, or visit the online collection. Artist have regained their interest in using paper as a medium and have done some pretty profound things with it. Breathless!

Andy Smith is a very talented illustrator. His work combines illustration and typography to create images that combine humor, energy and optimism. Although the look is hand drawn, many of drawings are created digitally! Gee-zoo! Amazing!

Handmade is not exactly a “new” trend, but it is picking up speed rapidly. Indie craft shows and stores are popping up everywhere and we can’t get enough. The king of all things handmade and amazing is etsy. We love all of its goodies! Plus you don’t feel so guilty about spending money when you are supporting an artist or crafting artisan!

Artist Nancy Judd makes exquisite clothing from recycled cans and plastic bottles. Her goal is to provide education about conservation. Some of her work has been commissioned by Target, Coca-Cola, and Toyota. Very, very cool.

Michelle Moode that is. In her own words “I make little things and draw lots of pictures. I write things sometimes. I collect typewriters. I drink a lot of Earl Grey tea.” We were fortunate enough to meet her Unique LA and bought some very cute things from her. Nancy picked 12 uniquely beautiful watercolor circles and Katie got a little hanging pile of scraps. We loved her booth and her stuff. So precious!
