Not that we didn’t have a million other reasons to go to New York. If you are going to be in New York before April 4th… check out the Museum of Arts and Design, or visit the online collection. Andy Smith is a very talented illustrator. His work combines illustration and typography to create images that combine humor, energy and optimism. Although the look is hand drawn, many of drawings are created digitally! Gee-zoo! Amazing!

Natalie Perkins draws on walls, like I did as a child, only she gets paid to do so. She also “creates whimsical yet wistful pieces which incorporate finely detailed line work as well as hand drawn lettering and builds pictures out of intricate clumps of paisleys, drawn with a moderate-sized army of pens and pencils.” You must check out her website to see more!

So we are not the first blog to feature Katie Daisy, but how could we not! We love her playful style and bright colors. One of these prints would make any room sing! Or two, or three…

“Suzanne opened Hollyhock to sell all the things she loved for the home, but couldn’t easily find in Los Angeles. That was over 20 years ago and since its opening Hollyhock has been an exclusive resource for designers and discerning shoppers.” Hmmm… this shop is in driving distance.

Emigre Cover Stories is a series of 10 digital collages created specifically for the 2010 exhibit Emigre at Gallery 16, celebrating Emigre’s 25th anniversary. The prints are available exclusively through Gallery 16 in San Francisco. They would look so perfect above my couch!
